Day 41
Day 41 Ministry is the leadership group that introduced "40 Days of Purpose" and "The Summitt" campaigns to the congregation over the past two years. Both campaigns were designed to help St. John take a look at it's purpose, and to better define it's vision and mission in doing God's work in our congregation, community and the world. Day 41 has begun to use a process called "Appreciative Inquiry". With this approach, we are identifying our strengths and building upon them in each area of our congregational life. The focus for 2006-2007 is to help each member of the congregation to understand and apply the mission statement of St. John to his/her ministry and stewardship of the time, talent and treasure here at St. John. Between September and January the mission statement will be broken into the 5 Purposes/Guiding Principles for study. Starting in February, the Day 41 group will help guide the congregation in using the MIssion Statement in every aspect of congregational life.
Small Groups
St. John offers one or two studies each year. Small groups gather once a week to study the material. Some small groups are formed to study the selected material. There are a number of small groups that stay together and continue to meet on a regular basis to study material that they select. Both kinds of small group settings have enriched the members that have participated. The study material will be announced after the first of the year.
